When Karla called me in April to indroduce Charlene & Carlos’s wedding idea to me, she mentioned that they were looking for a meaningful ceremony and obviously the first thought was about a mayan ritual.
Charlene was very specific telling me which kind of ceremony she wanted up front (she shared with me a video in YouTube), unfortunately that particular officiant she wanted wasn’t available for her wedding date, but I could guide her through choosing the perfect one for her group.
They decided to have a civil union followed by a mayan ceremony.

Charlene and Carlos shared a wonderful connection and they were very relaxed throughout the planning, on event day very nervous but as well anxious to say “I do”!
The location for this perfect wedding day was Mahekal Beach Resort in the center of Playa del Carmen.
I personally like this resort very much as you can easily reach the most important places of the city walking and the staff is always very kind.
One of the best moments was certainly when Charlene and her mum saw each other at the SPA, both beautiful, they were about to cry… but they breathed deeply and they started to sing the song “Dura” of Daddy Yankee (Charlene likes his songs a lot).
She wanted their guests to participate during the ceremony: there is the opportunity for them to accompain with rattles the mayan officiant in certain parts of it.
The couple as well wanted their guests to participate in the petal blessing at the end, so every one had a lot of fun.
Their wedding day was perfect and they danced until late at night.
